Why do you need car audio amplifiers?

If you are looking for answers to questions like, “do I need a car audio amplifier?” or “why don’t my upgraded car speakers don’t good?” or “how to make my car music system play louder and cleaner?”, then this article can help you out with answers.

A car amplifier is a device that amplifies a weak audio signal and makes it loud. But before I even go deeper, you should know that every car audio system has an amplifier. Most of the time the amplifier is built-in your car stereo, but they may not be of high quality. So, if you want a good quality amp that is built-in with a car stereo then you might have to pay a little more for your car stereo. So, the question lies, whether you need to add an extra amp or not. The answer is, it depends.

Here are a few reasons for buying a car audio amplifier-

Quality

Obviously, the sound quality is the main reason. If you want your car speakers to play with low distortion or crisp clear then you definitely need to buy a good car amplifier. Even before you buy new car speakers, you need good amplifiers.

Loud

If you are the type of person who loves to listen to their music out loud then a quality car amplifier is the most important thing that you need in your car audio system. An amplifier will amplify the sound and make it louder to hear.

For doing Justice to your speakers

A good set of speakers can do great things for your car audio system. But if you have upgraded your car speakers and didn’t get the expected quality of sound from them, then probably it is due to having a poor car audio amplifier. Buy a good quality amplifier for a good set of speakers.

Adding a Subwoofer

A subwoofer is a type of speaker that can play really low sounds. So, if you are a hip-hop fan and don’t want to miss a low beat and want to add a subwoofer then adding a car music amplifier is your solution.

Channels

For each car speaker, you will need one channel. But usually, your car stereo will have only a few numbers of channels. Thus, for adding a number of speakers you will need a car audio amplifier that has multiple numbers of channels to suit your needs.

Using amplifiers will enhance the quality of sound and will open the door for other car music system upgrades. If you want a complete car music system or marine audio system then GC car Audio can give you a solution.

3 different types of speaker and their uses

Speakers are the electronic device that turns audio files into real sound for our ears to hear. We can’t hear an mp3 file, our ears only hear frequencies. So, the speakers turn an audio file (can be of any format like .mp3, .wav etc.) into frequencies so that we can listen to them.

There are three basic types of speakers:

  1. Woofers
  2. Tweeter
  3. Mid-Range

Here we will be talking about 3 basic types of speakers and their uses.

  1. Woofers: Woofers are responsible for producing the low frequency of sounds. They can produce sounds that are between 40 Hz to 500 Hz. So, all the bass notes are played by the woofers. It is because of the woofers we can hear bass sounds. So, if you are a fan of the bass drum or a bass guitar, you need a good woofer. For a hip-hop fan, a good woofer can help to listen to the low beats and augment the feel of a song.
  2. Tweeters: Tweeters produce high-frequency audio. They can produce sounds that are in between 2000 Hz to 20000 Hz. All high notes from a guitar can be heard clearly if you have a good tweeter. It is a good idea to increase the tweeter sound for listening to songs that have high pitch vocal lines.
  3. Mid-Range: This type of speakers produces the frequency that is in between the woofer and tweeters. A mid-range speaker can produce frequency from 500 Hz to 4000 Hz. In any typical song, the mid-range frequencies are used more. So, it’s important to have a good mid-range speaker. Most of the pop or rock songs require a mid-range speaker for good sound quality.

So, if you want to listen to music with good quality sound then you need all three of the basic speakers. But, even if you have all three speakers your music might not sound great if they aren’t good quality.

If you enjoy listening to music in the car then you need a better car music system, including a good car stereo and car speakers. If you own a boat and want a good marine stereo system or boat speakers then you can contact with Gold Coast Car Audio. We have all you need to make your journey in your vehicle an enjoyable one.

What is the difference between GPS Tracking and Navigation?

GPS or Global Positioning System is an incredible technology that can be used by everyday people nowadays. GPS technology can determine your position on the globe with accuracy.

How does GPS work?

GPS works in a very simple way. The satellites can track a GPS receiver (the device which we use to track something). Then it sends the positional information. Then our car stereo can use the information and place the location on a map.

Difference between GPS Navigation and Tracking

The GPS navigation or tracking both have different uses and purpose, but both of them use a GPS system.

Navigation: The navigation is used in transport, it can be a car, ship or even an aeroplane. The navigation is used for locating a destination and reaching that point.

Tracking: The tracking can be used on anything that is needed to be tracked, including transport, humans, animals, products or device etc.

Let’s get to know about the differences between them.

The flow of Information:

In the Navigation System, the GPS locates the position of the transport and sends the information to the driver by decoding it in a map. It also locates the destination point where the transport is willing to go. It is because of the GPS navigation that a driver gets turn by turn directions.

In the Tracking System, just like the navigation system, the GPS locates the position of the transport or anything with a GPS receiver. But unlike the navigation system, the information of the location goes to someone who wants to monitor the entity with the GPS receiver.

Purpose:

The purpose of using GPS navigation is to reach a destination point or identifying one’s own position in the map.

The purpose of tracking is to identify something or someone else’s position on a map.

Use:

The GPS navigation will navigate you to your desired point. No matter where you live on the globe, GPS navigation will work. If you want to reach a destination but you don’t know how to get there then GPS navigation can take you to your destination.

The GPS tracker will simply track your current location or movements. If you are a business owner and want to monitor deliveries for example, then you can track their position and their movement speed using a GPS tracker.

Things you need to know about modern car navigation systems

Here are a few interesting things about Modern Car Navigation –

Guiding system with display

Your maps are a simple and easy to follow navigation screen, with turn by turn instructions so you don’t get lost.

Most of the modern car navigations have voice assistance systems. This can help a driver to get the alerts and additional information without taking eyes off the road, and with built-in voice recognition, a driver can command the navigation system with their voice as well.

Your Car Navigation is better than your Mobile Navigation

Using your mobile to navigate is pretty easy, but it sucks both your battery and your data, plus every time a call or text comes in your map gets disrupted which can result in you missing a turn. Below are a few reasons to ditch your mobile maps and use a car navigation system:

  • Large Display: With a bigger car stereo system, you can have a larger interface. A larger interface is less distracting than a phone. Especially when you have to glare too many times on the screen to drive the car.
  • The signal might go off: For phones, losing signal means losing everything. Because phones can’t give you navigation information when it is out of signal, however a car navigation, always active and ready to use.
  • Real-Time Traffic Data: Radio data system enables car navigation to get real-time traffic data continuously, whereas phone navigation is dependent on the internet connection to provide real-time traffic data.
  • Power option: Your Phone may run out of charge, but your car navigation won’t.

When it comes to navigation and music all in one handy system Gold Coast Car Audio have got you covered.
